Shoe polish , cream, brushes, pallet, polishing cloth : how to use tem ?

Cream , milk and wax

The soft leather cream is for the stronger leather. It penetrates the leather more deeply. This cream hydrate the leather and protect from dry leather.   (format liquide ou pâte), est idéale pour ... (la crème liquide permet de pénétrer le cuir plus en profondeur). Do not forget that the leather is a living matter that needs to take care of it at least twice a month. 

We recommand you to use a colored cream for your shoes patinated to keep its colour. If you need an universal cream, you can use an colorless cream. 

The cleaning milk is use to clean the shoes and remove all the dirt or any excess of wax that is on your shoes. Do not use the milk too often, once a month is more than enough. .

The shoe polish is the protection your shoes need. Seen as the make up for the shoes, the choice of the colour of the shoe polish permits to give your shoes differents brightness. You have to polish your shoes at least twice a month.

Brushes

Brushes are used to remove dirt accumulated throughout the day, polish or apply creams and polishes.

The medium format horsehair shine brush provides a gentle shine for your shoes to make them shine.

The brass brush is the essential accessory for maintaining velvet calf shoes. Indeed, the velvet calf takes care of dust all day long, so it is important to remove the dirt from the material and comb it so that it can regain its original appearance.

The pallet, made of solid wood and pure horsehair, is ideal to apply the cream in every corner of the shoe and to even out the waxing.

The polishing cloth preferably 100% cotton, gently massages the leather of the shoe and ensures complete maintenance of the leather. Its soft texture helps to remove dust from leather, apply cleaning products (cream, polish) and also to polish your shoes.

The polishing glove, made of real lamb, is essential to obtain an immediate and impeccable shine. It allows the pair of shoes to be easily polished and gives a shine more marked than the brush to be polished.

The Waterproofing Bombs

Waterproofing bombs are exclusively reserved for suede leather. They should never be used on the smooth leather of your shoes. They are available in black and brown to revive the colour of your shoes or in colourless for use on suede leather colour.

The shoetrees

When manufacturing a shoe, it is constantly mounted on a pattern to give it its final shape. However, this volume must be maintained so that the leather does not collapse. As we explain here, shoetrees are essential for the good fit and durability of your shoes. Indeed, it has many virtues. In particular, it allows you to:

• Tighten the leather in order to keep the original shape of the shoe
• Minimize unsightly creases of ease after your day's walk
• Absorb moisture (e. g. rain) or perspiration
• Repel mites and odours

For maximum and optimal optimization, a shoe-holder must be made of raw wood, preferably red cedar and adapted to the size of the shoe. A varnished shoe shoe will lose its absorbency just like a plastic shoe. Finsbury also advises the use of "full" hiring machines. There are indeed "tensioners" or so-called "forefoot" shoeshoes that only attach to the front of the shoe and not to the entire foot.
