Finsbury House Commitments
Finsbury Commitments
From the beginning, Finsbury has maintained a trusting relationship with its European-based workshops . Our vision is simple: to offer quality products, while adopting a responsible production approach. It is with this in mind that we have selected our workshops. We are constantly seeking to improve our practices in order to be in harmony with our workshops, our factories and our customers.
We aim to contribute to improving environmental sustainability and respecting working conditions while maintaining impeccable product quality. These are the efforts we are currently implementing at Finsbury.
Our workshops
In this approach and search for quality, we have chosen countries where expertise in high-end shoes is renowned : Spain, Italy and Portugal.
These European countries and their workshops have developed know-how year after year, whether in GoodYear stitching, Blake stitching, patina , etc.
These workshops, where handcrafting reigns supreme, were able to meet our specifications so that the Finsbury quality sought was achieved.
Our French & Italian leathers
The tanneries we work with source their leather from French and Italian suppliers who offer leathers renowned for their suppleness and strength : the tanneries of Puy en Velay and Annonnay. The leathers are finer and particularly suited to the creation of various patinas, shades and colorings. Today, we are proud to say that 70% of our leathers are French .
Our leathers undergo a triple quality control in order to offer quality and resistant shoes. Firstly, before cutting the skin delivered to the factory, a first check on the skin is carried out by our teams to avoid imperfections and irregularities. Once cut and then sewn to form the upper, the latter is "shaped", the pressure exerted on the skin reveals at this moment possible imperfections invisible before tensioning (example: small deep stretch marks), again certain uppers must be excluded. A third quality control is carried out at the end of the chain at the time of finishing (dye, patina) and before boxing .
Once the shoes have been received in our Parisian warehouse and before dispatching them to our points of sale, we carry out a final quality check on the leathers, the colours and the packaging in order to deliver a pair of impeccable quality to you.
Our soles
Each of our soles is made according to the model and range of shoes chosen.
Manufactured in our European factories, our different soles (rubber, leather, etc.) are constantly improved to achieve perfect quality while respecting environmental standards .
We are also working on recycled soles for some of our sneaker-style products.
A short circuit for transport
We use a short supply chain with hides tanned in central France or northern Italy. Our factories are all located in Europe within a radius of approximately 1,300 to 1,800 km from our storage warehouses.
Once produced, our shoes are shipped directly by truck to our warehouse.
Our boxes
To continue our momentum, our boxes in which the shoes are carefully placed have been designed using exclusively recycled cardboard .
Our goal is to avoid waste as much as possible.
Throughout these different stages, we are always striving to be more eco-responsible, whether in the design of our products, in our workshops, boutiques or at our head office.
